First Meeting!

We had our first meeting tonight of the English Meadows Community Garden. Out of it has come a planning team that is preparing a plan to present to the English Meadows Property Owners Association. We've also picked a section of the community green by the fire pit that we think will work best. We're going to start small with a vision for expanding as more community members join in. Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, April 13 @ 7:30PM (5058 Glendurgan Ct.). We'll be putting together a plan that we will present to the English Meadows Property Owners Association Meeting on April 20th. This plan will include a layout, a budget, and some garden rules. It's never to late to join.

$100 Seed Money

I just received word from the Lansing Garden Project that they're giving us $100 of seed money for our community garden. Yahoo! They're willing to give us some other support too.

Hope to see you tomorrow night at our meeting.

First Meeting this Monday!

Imagine a garden where you and your neighbors come together to relax, enjoy, harvest food, and of course do some work all the while building friendships with those who live around you. That's what this English Meadows Community Garden could be.

Our first Garden meeting is this Monday night, March 29 @ 7:00 PM (5058 Glendurgan Ct). This meeting will cover some basics just to see what the interest level is out there. If you're in the English Meadows Sub Division and you're interested in gardening, we hope you'll join us.

English Meadows Community Garden

Interested in gardening?

Want to meet your English Meadows neighbors?

Need something for your kids to do outside this year?

Want a garden but don’t know how to start?

A new community garden is in the works at English Meadows. We’re only in the planning stages for developing a community garden on our neighborhood green space, and we’re looking for master gardeners to mentor the rest of us, those who would like to learn more about gardening, and those who would just like to build community in our neighborhood by getting to know your neighbors.

This community garden project is being organized by Tom Arthur and Paul Pirrotta, residents of English Meadows and members of the property owners’ association. We’ll be having an initial meeting for those interested on Monday, March 30th at 7:00PM at Tom’s house (5058 Glendurgan Court). Come and join in the discussion. For more info contact Tom or Paul.
