Came across this blog post and video by Gabriel, who has been working with our community garden from the Garden Project. I think this is a great video showing the process of beginning with a lawn and ending with a thriving garden. Check it out.

Budget & Next Steps!
The English Meadows Community Garden Team met for the second time tonight. We put together a budget (see below) and between the generous gift of one of the members and a community grant, we have all the money needed to make it happen. Our next steps include:
April 20 @ 6PM - Attend the EMPOA (English Meadows Property Owners Association) meeting to get approval of our plan.
May 4 @ 7PM - Attend the EMPOA Annual Meeting to get approval of the plan from the entire neighborhood.
May 4 after the Annual Meeting - We'll hold a brief meeting to plan next steps.
May 15 @ 1PM - BREAK GROUND!
Our current plans include two raised beds that are 4 feet by 8 feet each. We will assign people to daily tasks (watering and weeding) and will have one or two harvest days a week in which we will share the produce from the garden amongst the participating members. We will also be giving a share to the local Holt Food Bank. The garden will be chemical free and organic.
There's plenty of room to join in. If you're interested, drop me an email (tom@saraharthur.com). Join us for any one of the above meetings and come help us break ground!
